Book Greg !!
Greg Despins is a one-man-band who uses looping and effects pedals to make his guitar also sound like drums, bass, and keyboards. He layers these different parts together live and then sings and plays lead guitar on top of that, which is an entertaining art form on its own. Greg performs regularly at local venues in Austin and he also hosted the open mic night at The Parlor for a couple years. His sets include a great mix of alternative hits and pop cover songs with occasional songs from other genres (country, blues, rock, R&B, and a few originals). Greg is getting great reviews playing gigs around Austin where he creates a larger than life atmosphere at different clubs and events.
What people say...
"We hired Greg for a Lakehouse Party for about 85 friends. Greg was amazing to work with on all levels! His guitar and vocals were over the top fantastic! Friends thought the looping was the best they have heard. Thank you Greg for creating a music magical evening! "
"Crazy talented! Greg plays an amazing mix of new and old school. He has an amazing sound! We were so lucky to experience him live in Austin."

What is Looping?
What to Expect?
You can expect me to be on time, courteous, professional and….. entertaining :). I can play small intimate venues by dialing back the volume and singing with a more lounge type vocal so that people can enjoy conversations… Or… I can crank it up and get people dancing in small and large venues. Some people are very much entertained by just watching me “build” each song live with the loop pedal.
I am also able to travel to out town bookings for the most part.
I am fully vaccinated and also carry $1 million General Liability Insurance. Invoices, Proof of Insurance and 1099’s available upon request.
-Small, single tower array type PA system (JBL Eon One) that has plenty of volume for most lounges, parties, restaurants and small bars.
-Some very basic lighting for the stage area,
-A mic and mic stand, which you can also use if needed for announcements.
For larger venues and audiences, I have a decent sized PA system that includes subwoofers.
You are also welcome to use all my sound equipment to play recorded music before and after my performance as long as we work out the general details at the time of booking. The equipment is Bluetooth compatible so I can run a playlist of your favorite songs through it and dial in the sound for you.
Greg hails from the small northern town of The Pas, Canada but eventually found his way to Texas after earning a degree in Engineering. Always interested in music, he decided to try his hand at songwriting. After receiving some airplay, he eventually became focused on performing live with a uniquely engineer inspired approach. Experimenting with loop pedals and effects, he was able to create a one man band. Greg now resides in Austin where he sings, plays guitar and creates a larger than life atmosphere at clubs and events all over.
